The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust was set up after the tragic killing of Stephen Lawrence, 18, in an unprovoked racist attack in 1993. Lawrence had dreams of becoming an architect that sadly went unrealised. However, the Your Space (Stephen Lawrence Centre) has been designed to honour his memory and provide a space in which young people, aged 13 to 30, from disadvantaged backgrounds can be helped to succeed in their own dream careers.

Gensler donated their time and design expertise to this project, and we were pleased to be able to donate our Palisades Grid and HotLocker systems too. The lockers provide storage for everybody using the centre, while the grid’s installed along the wall and fitted with pine boxes for bookshelves and planters. Hopefully Your Space’s bright, open coworking area will help to encourage and inspire everybody that works there. It’s all part of the dream of creating a fairer society.
