Chase Sapphire Airport Lounge

Designing an airport lounge that captures this energy yet meets the practical demands of travellers posed a unique challenge: creating a space that is both a soothing retreat and a lively space for social connection. The objective was to welcome guests into a luxurious, dynamic experience that could be uniquely “Austin” while still aligning with Chase Sapphire’s high standards of elegance and exclusivity.
The creative minds of Corgan not only understood this vision but brought it to life with a design celebrating Austin’s landscape and laid-back culture. Fusing functional elegance with a sense of wanderlust and discovery, the result is a lounge experience that beckons travellers to stay awhile, whether they're grabbing a bite, catching up on work, or simply soaking in the Texas sunshine.

Stepping through an archway framed by Spacestor’s black Palisades II, guests are welcomed into an oasis above the busy concourse. Inspired by the natural surroundings of Austin, the indoor space opens into a breezy outdoor terrace, complete with lush greenery, colorful furnishings, and flooding natural light. The terrace features everything from quiet nooks to lively spots for a game of cornhole or shuffleboard. The lounge’s design pays tribute to Austin’s spirit through vibrant colors and art, including large glass murals of Texas wildflowers.

The Palisades II zoning elegantly encloses the space without isolating it, enhancing the lounge’s open feel, and creating visual interest through its integration of ornamental displays, lush planters, and pops of color. Integrated into this modular divider are carefully placed alcoves where Spacestor’s upholstered seating creates intimate pockets for reading, resting, or catching up on a few emails. Not merely decorative, the Palisades II is outfitted with integrated storage, maximizing functionality and space without compromising the lounge’s streamlined look.

Corgan and their client have crafted an elevated space that is as versatile as it is luxurious. This Chase Sapphire Lounge invites travellers into an experience far removed from the hurried atmosphere of typical airport waiting areas. It’s a place where Texas hospitality meets refined, functional design, where guests can enjoy a casual meal, relax in the shade, or take in the stunning outdoor views.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge at Austin-Bergstrom redefines the art of the airport lounge, creating an environment that is truly “worth the wait”— a place where travellers are invited to unwind, engage, and explore the joy of simply being in transit!
